Life on a Trampoline

Our neighbours have a trampoline with a tall net surrounding the edges where their kids spend endless hours. (they gave me permission to take this picture).

Many times, as I drive by, I see them jumping and doing flips. Thank goodness for that safety net! I think if I tried what they did, a 911 call would have to be made! Oh, to be young!

That trampoline reminds me of emotions.  Some days we are up, other days we are lying face down wondering what happened, and more realistically, life is a bit of both.

Doing life isn’t always in a neat little package tied with a bow. We face struggles but we also have exciting moments that make us jump for joy.

For me, living as a single parent for a number of years certainly had good and bad times, but years later I jumped for joy when I published my first book for single parents. I realized that life is like a trampoline. Ups and downs are a part of life. (See I used to jump on one and survived!)

I am so glad for the safety net that Jesus surrounds me with. How about you? He is ready to surround and protect us when we are jumping up and down doing life.

Live under the protection of God Most High and stay in the shadow of God All-Powerful. Then you will say to the Lord, “You are my fortress, my place of safety; you are my God, and I trust you.” The Lord will keep you safe from secret traps and deadly diseases. He will spread his wings over you and keep you secure. His faithfulness is like a shield or a city wall. Psalm 91:1-4 (CEV)

As you face this week and feel like you are living on a trampoline, call out to the God Most High.  He is the true place of safety.

Open Your Tool Box:

  • What emotions are you feeling right now?
  • Be comforted that God is your place of safety and you can rest in the shadows of His wings.
  • You are not alone, ups and downs means doing life.
  • Reach out to someone so you can jump together and be encouraged.

YOU CAN DO THIS!
