Is your Life Bowl filled up with all things good? It has been fun to walk with you through this journey found in Galatians 5. Let’s recap all the wonderful characteristics that the Spirit gives.
God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways. Galatians 5: 22-23
What a beautiful, big Life Bowl of Fruit for the Journey.
It was so important that the Apostle Paul kept repeating it to those he came in contact with. This Fruit helps when life tries to crowd other things in our Life Bowl to spoil it.
God loves you and has chosen you as his own special people. So be gentle, kind, humble, meek, and patient. Colossians 3:12
Timothy, you belong to God, so keep away from all these evil things. Try your best to please God and to be like him. Be faithful, loving, dependable, and gentle. 1 Timothy 6:11
Do your best to improve your faith. You can do this by adding goodness, understanding, self-control, patience, devotional to God, concern for others, and love. 2 Peter 1:5-7
From the beginning of time, choosing fruit from the forbidden tree continues a rippling affect in our world. However, the Fruit of the Spirit is healthy, live-giving, and fruitful. We can love others, be happy within ourselves, and have true peace despite some painful life’s circumstances. This Fruit will produce goodness within and help us to be faithful and gentle. As we face choices and decisions, God will help us be people of self-control. Wow!!! That is one huge fruit basket producing a productive life.
Truth is, my friends, we can upset the apple cart. We ain’t perfect! Well, I am but you aren’t…..just kidding (smile here)! We try hard, we have victories, and then: we goof! Throw that rotten fruit away and ask God to forgive. I bet Eve wanted to kick herself. She couldn’t undo it, but God in His mercy made a way and He will until He returns again someday.
As you are perusing the fresh fruit isle this week, be reminded of your amazing Life Bowl. God’s Spirit wants to refresh your soul and help with each and every decision of your life.
