As a teen, I remember leaving a building that sat beside an apple tree. It was the perfect spot for a defenseless girl to get attacked with flying apples from the boys! How rude right!!! My poor shield was a plastic basin and certainly a far cry from a good protective piece of armour. I survived!
Choosing to fight life correctly will, without a doubt, yields opposition. Groan! People who live a lie don’t like the truth. Their life is filled with unrest deprived of peace, and the farthest thing from their mind is doing the right thing.
Wouldn’t it be nice if everything wasn’t so difficult? Remember, even fairy tales have villains!
Let’s see what this Shield of Faith is all about. The website, http://www.freebiblestudyguides.org/bible-teachings/armor-of-god-shield-of-faith.htm gave me some insight on this protective piece. Check it out.
Because of its sheer size (some were three and a half feet tall and almost three feet wide), soldiers were afforded a great deal of protection from enemies…and function in a limited offensive capacity as a means of knocking an opponent backwards.
This shield would be the necessary life-giving piece for battle. For present day-to-day life battles, God has provided us with the Shield of Faith allowing us to extinguish those fiery darts. Satan loves this game of war and wants us to feel defeated and give up. Don’t fear, we have God The Almighty on our side!
Holding up the Shield of Faith will help deflect doubts, fears, and stressful situations from the ex-husband and others who want us to feel defeated.
Your way is perfect, Lord, and your word is correct. You are a shield for those who run to you for help. You are alone are my shield. Your right hand supports me… Psalm 18:30, 35
Faith is an action word. Faith can be very challenging when we can’t see what is ahead or feel like nothing is going to change. Maybe you are dealing with legal issues, feeling backed up against the wall from the ex, clear boundaries are continually stretched, or the kids are trying to cope with the marriage breakdown. Life can feel pretty daunting against satan’s fiery dates so trying to raise that Shield of Faith can feel downright exhausting.
Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see. Hebrews 11:1
Don’t lose hope because God does not abandoned. God is never wrong, always faithful and just. Jesus reassured the crowd,
If you had faith no larger than a mustard see, you could tell this mountain to move from here to there. And it would. Everything would be possible for you. Matthew 17:20b-21
Fight your fight faith-filtered. (Say that 5 times!)
Tighten your Belt of Truth, re-fit your Breastplate of Righteousness, plant your Shoes of Peace in place, and grip your Shield of Faith ready for battle.
- Hold your Shield of Faith high
- Understand you need only a mustard seed of faith to move forward
- Trust God as you enter into papers, promises, and peace
- You are well on your way to fight the good way!
You can do this!
