Separation and Divorce brings many challenges to say the least. It’s hard to get clear perspective sometimes. Unfortunately, most times there is a fight over very little things because of the major foundational issue of a broken marriage and the pain that partners it.
Even if the two parties decide to make it as amicable for the sake of the children, issues will still invade the home life. Emotions have been severed, trust broken, and anger is at the surface clinging to an attitude of “I deserve this”.
Life consists of battles. What I would like to do over the next few weeks is talk about Fighting the Good Way by following God’s Way with His set of Armour. At the end of the day, it will prove healthy for you and your kids. We can only make healthy choices for us (not our ex) and understanding how to fight this battle will be health to your very bones.
Paul encourages us to TAKE OUR STAND, TO STAND, and STAND FIRM THEN.
We will start next week with the Belt of Truth. I leave you with the passage to chew on, think about, and then get ready to STAND FIRM!
Ephesians 6: 10-18 (NIV) https://www.biblegateway.com
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
- Read Ephesians 6
- Ask God to help you as you ‘fight’ through issues in your life.
- Believe that God’s way is the best way to fight!
YOU CAN DO THIS!
