A Family Christmas Blessing

Some of my most precious Christmas memories wasn’t opening gifts, getting money, or attending big parties. It was the precious special times with family that blessed my life.  Do you feel the same?

Because of a separated or divorced home, Christmas for you and the kids may not land on the 25th.  Whatever day your family Christmas lands, make it one of love, laughter, and Kodak moments.

first christmas singleI know it can be a hard time of year. This picture was taken three months after my ex left that first Christmas. I was smiling but there were so many moments of tears too! By the grace of God, I kept moving ahead.

People are talking about what they are doing on the holidays, trips planned, spending lots of money, and squeezing in party after party.  At the end of the day, making special family memories with be a wonderful blessing to you and your children. There is no price tag to define that.

We had our own traditions whatever day it landed that will forever be etched in our hearts. The girls and I were so blessed to spend time with my extended family during the Christmas season.  We sang songs, made crafts and homemade ice cream, and walked girls hugging at xmas eventthe streets singing Christmas carols to the neighbours.

You can create your own special Christmas blessings with your kids without having to spend a lot of money.  Get the pot on the stove for hot chocolate, the popcorn maker popping, and turn on the television to watch a movie with your kids.  Read the Christmas Story found in Luke 2 to celebrate Jesus’ birthday and the true reason for this season. Why not call another single mom and her kids and plan to look at the lights or have a games night.

From my heart to yours, may you have many special moments with your family. May you feel Jesus’ presence to give you His peace and bless your life during these next couple of weeks. Jesus came to give you True Life. Merry Christmas Dear One!
