Inside the walls of your home, rented apartment, or condo lives your family. It may be yourself and one child, maybe two, three or four children, two cats and a gold fish. Don’t for one minute think, you are not a family.
The TV sitcom days of Leave it to Beaver and Father Knows Best are no longer the norm. Single moms and their children, are still a family. Society has drastically changed within the family unit.
Fill your home with love and stability. A family loves each other, is willing to work at life with true commitment without manipulation and fear. What a beautiful description of home.
Author, Janna Matthies, has so beautifully depicted this in her book called, ‘Two is Enough’ for release this November. Beautifully illustrated pictures express the life of children with single moms, single dads, a single person who has adopted a child, and older caregivers raising a child. There aren’t a lot of books like this and it is an easy read to encourage your kids to understand the importance of family.
2 Samuel 7:29, Now be pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, Sovereign Lord, have spoken, and with your blessing the house of your servant will be blessed forever.
The family unit that once was may not be the same, but it is still a family. As you fill your home with unconditional love and a sense of trust remember that two, three, or four is enough.
Three was enough for the girls and me as we moved through life. We built our home on trust, respect and love. What does your family look like?
