Where oh where has the summer gone? Sunday to Monday have flown by and I still want to bask in the sunshine (with sunscreen), listen to the crickets and swatch flies!
As August would wind down so did my time at our trailer. I looked forward to packing away my suitcase bracing for routine. I would miss the walks along the beach, viewing spectacular sunsets, and listening to the crackle of the campfire. But, a new season was on the horizon.
Seasons change in our emotional health as well. With time moving on, how is life for you? Do you have moments of great encouragement and victory as you walk this Single Mom journey? Are you having success in these shoes?
Just as I stored my weekend suitcase back into the closet, so it was with my some destructive thoughts and feelings. My desire was that life wouldn’t be about my losses but about what I was gaining. It didn’t diminish the hurt or the unfairness of life, but it gave me reason to keep moving ahead.
God is in the business of helping us to be all we can be. As this season is coming to an end and a new one beginning, what positive changes can you make in your life?
Just as trips to the lake ended for the summer, I once again looked forward to a new season in my spirit with new challenges and adventures. Life also became routine as it should. I said so-long to August as I tore off the calendar page anticipating something new.
