I love quotes and found this one particularly exhilarating. This author sums up our Mom Job Description. She has given me permission to quote from this page.
In her book, Sharon Jaynes, Being a Great Mom-Raising Great Kids, (Chicago, IL: Moody Publishing, 2000) p19 says,
‘On any given day we are housekeeper, interior decorator, laundress, gourmet chef, short-order cook, chauffeur, painter, wallpaper hanger, seamstress, nurse, guidance counselor, internal affairs CEO, financial planner, travel agent, administrative assistant, disciplinarian, preacher, teacher, tutor, spiritual advisor, dietitian, lecturer, librarian, fashion coordinator, private investigator, cheerleader, manicurist, pedicurist, automobile maintenance expert, referee, and gift purchasing agent to both sides of the family.’
This is not just describing Single Moms but every woman while raising their children. Think of it as being a CEO for all these jobs! The pay isn’t great but the dividends are out of this world!!
Doing these jobs on your own is a challenge and I know you going to make it with success!
Give yourself a high five today and embrace the fact that as a Single Mom, you can have the courage and strength to raise your kids to be all they can be.
Here are two verses to claim for this week:
Isaiah 40:29, He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Philippians 4:13, I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
- Claim God’s promises as the CEO for each job
- God believes you can do this! He will help you
- Encourage another single mom and ask her what hat she is wearing at that moment
- Try and get your hands on Sharon Jaynes book, Being a Great Mom-Raising Great Kids.
YOU CAN DO THIS!
