UNTHAWING

IMG_0002

I love watching the landscape change from gray and white to beautiful colours of little crocus’ and tulips.  The shade of green begins to fill yards and cover the branches on trees. Birds are singing that it is spring and little insects and critters are visiting us again.

A new season has begun.

So it can be with our spiritual lives.  Lack of spiritual growth can have a frozen effect like those cold winter months.  There is a numbness in our very soul and sometimes it is hard to move ahead and bloom.

Taking the first step in deciding what new choice we can make this spring season is a step in the right direction.

Books are written by those who have walked a similar journey.  Just knowing that we are not alone can be a breath of fresh air we so desperately need.

Let me suggest some books, that sit on my shelf, you might find inspiring.  These are only a few of thousands that you can find on Amazon or Christianbook.com but space on this blog limits me.  With e-books so handy and inexpensive you can have your book ready to read in minutes. I feel that books are a window to the world and a gift to all of us.

Live, Laugh, Love Again: A Christian Women’s Survival Guide to Divorce by  Carla Sue Nelson, Connie Wetzell, Michelle Borquez, Rosalind Spinks-Seay,  Forward by Dr. Tim Clinton

The top 100 Women of the Christian Faith by Jewell Johnson

Boundaries by Dr. Henry Cloud & Dr. John Townsend

Knit Together: Discover God’s Pattern for Your Life by Debbie Macomber

The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson

Between the Window and the Door, Seeking God’s Purpose in the In-Between by Julie B. Cosgrove

Reading biographies of people who have had victories despite very difficult circumstances inspire me leaving a huge imprint on my heart.

Christian Heroes: Then & Now have many books to choose from.

bloomDon’t stay buried in despair or stuckedness (that isn’t a word but I like it!). Slowly begin to melt your heart toward spiritual growth. Pick a book or two; a sharp pencil (unless you have an e-book!); and go sit outdoors and feel the warmth of spring.  Spring has sprung and let your heart do the same! You won’t regret it.

God is so excited to help you on your journey. Zephaniah 3:17, The Lord your God wins victory after victory and is always with you. He celebrates and sings because of you, and he will refresh your life with his love.

You Can Do This!!
