Sandcastles and Mud Pies

ID-100104314How has your summer been?  The time is ticking away and summer is slowly winding down.

I hope that you have had some adventures with your kids. In the midst of pain and heartache, those positive moments with your kids will do a world of good.

1 Timothy 6:17, “Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant or to put their hope in wealth which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.”

Many times, with sand pails and shovels in hand, the girls and I made our way to the beach.  It was the simple things of making mud pies, and building sand castles that helped mend our hearts.  The world of imagination made them creating mud pies for special dinners, and sand castles in make-believe lands.???????????????????????????????

We were a Team. Our Team didn’t have to do extravagant things.  The reality was that we were together enjoying the simple things creating a strong bond. The waves eventually washed away the sand castles and the feast of mud pies but the memory of our summer day was not to be forgotten.

What fun adventures can your Team do this summer?  There is still time. These simple activities with each other will be etched deep into all your hearts. Your kids may be too old for making sand castles, yet there are other activities they will appreciate you doing with them.
