BFF (Best Friends Forever)!
I reached for the phone. My heart was breaking and tears were running down my face. I didn’t want the pain of feeling abandoned and living as a single mom. It was just too hard and I was exhausted. I dialed my girlfriend and waited for her ‘hello’.
Having confidential girlfriends to walk beside us and listen to our burdened heart is truly a gift. This gift of love is priceless.
True friends won’t gossip about you. They believe in you and invest their life in you and your kids. This type of friend is there to laugh, cry, and stand beside you. Proverbs 12:26 (CEV) says, The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
I recall one difficult day that had me dialing my BFF. Within in minutes she had picked me up in her car, took me for a drive to clear my head, and treated me to dinner. She knew what I needed.
With technology at our fingertips, our friends can be as close as the next block or across the continent.
Without a doubt, I know that God is the ultimate 100% true friend. He will never disappoint. Psalm 56:8 (CEV) You have kept record of my days of wandering. You have stored my tears in your bottle and counted each of them.
God’s life-line is never closed. It is open 24/7 and He is waiting to hear your voice. I am so glad God has partnered with me over the years. He also knows we need friends to journey beside us. As I began to heal, I was able to reciprocate that friendship. True BFF friendships has blessed my life.
